- I really don't know what he's seeing, but I suspec that it's
- either a problem with his software or his modem, because there isn't
- anything in v.34 (of vFC for that matter) that would cause pauses if
- everything is running fine. The only thing I can think of is that he's
- running without error control or data compression (which is recommened for
- Doom and many similar games since EC and DC increase latency time), but
- getting errors on his line with v.34 and not with v.32bis. This is quite
- likley if you tried to run v.34 at 28.8 and v.32bis at 14.4. However,
- running v.34 modems as fast as they'll go without erros (which, for me at
- least, is about 24.0 or 26.4) should be a fair bit faster then running a
- 14.4 connection.
